Bug Affecting New Uploads to External Evaluations

posted Jan 31, 2019, 3:18 PM by Christopher Davis   [ updated Jan 31, 2019, 3:31 PM ]

Since the most recent update to Interfolio Review, Promotion and Tenure, there is a bug affecting the usability of documents added to the "External Evaluations" section. After uploading, you cannot delete, rename, or change settings for these documents, and reviewer members of committees cannot see them. Only documents uploaded into "External Evaluations" on or after January 23, 2019 are impacted. Interfolio is actively working to fix this bug. We do not yet have an expected fix time, but there is a fairly simple workaround.

External Evaluations Upload Workaround

For any new documents you intend to go into the External Evaluations section:
  1. Upload the new document(s) into the Primary Documents section.
  2. Click the checkbox for each document.
  3. On the blue action bar, click "Move" and choose "External Evaluations"
  4. Click and drag your documents from the bottom of the External Evaluations section to their proper positions.
If you have already uploaded documents into "External Evaluations" that are causing problems, please inform your contact in the Provost's Office or GUMC Faculty Affairs, or write to Christopher Davis ( and Charlie Leonhardt ( in UIS.

Interfolio ByCommittee is affected by the widespread Amazon Web Services outage that began earlier today. While you may still be able to login to access your cases, you will be unable to view, download, or upload any case documents. There isn't yet an estimated time for resolution.

How To: Correcting Display Anomalies When Reading a Case

posted Mar 22, 2016, 6:56 AM by Christopher Davis

When reading case materials online, you may occasionally notice display anomalies like blank spots or distorted text. This seems to happen more frequently when scrolling through pages quickly or when there are many windows and programs open on the computer. Luckily, there are two very easy ways to fix these anomalies:
  • Use the magnifying glass buttons at the bottom-right corner of the window to change the zoom level,
  • Resize the reader window by dragging the window border
Either of these techniques will cause the text to display correctly. If they do not, you may have discovered a document that has a problem in the original file. Let your administrative contact know the case, document, and page exhibiting the problem.
